Description:
Chinese manga translation about young triad guys on
their way up is decent, solid work from the newly formed
BOB , run by Wong Jing, Manfred Wong,
and Andrew Lau Wai-Keung. Plot: Young triad guys
Chan Ho-Nam , Chicken , and
their buddies
work for the fatherly Brother B of the
Hung Hing group. Eventually, they move up the ladder
when they impress their benevolent boss Mr. Chiang . Things go bad when the scummy Ugly Kwan runs Chiang out of the top seat. When our heroes
get on Kwan抯 bad side, he does his best to screw them
big time, leading to all sorts of triad angst. Ultimately,
the buddiesfriendship is tested by their individual
hardships. Nam and Chicken have a falling out which
threatens to destroy the solidarity of the kids. But
when it counts, they band together and prevail in gang
fights as only young triad guys do. Gigi Lai appears
as Smartie, Nam抯 stuttering triad girlfriend. The two
main stars, Ekin Cheng and Jordan Chan, do well, but
the film is owned by Francis Ng who hilariously overacts
to the film抯 benefit. This is decent flick that entertains,
but takes itself just a bit too seriously. Ultimately,
it glorifies the triad lifestyle, which begs the question:
how many kids joined the triad thanks to this movie?
